The ancient silk road is one of the most important trade routes that links many ancient civilizations from the East to West, carrying people, goods, knowledge, culture, and technology. Due to the sheer scale of the Silk Road, our project will focus specifically on the Chinese segment of the Silk Road for now.
While the BLUE LINES represent the conventional routes of the Silk Road, the Yale Silk Road Database has shown many more records branching out from these conventional routes (see the PINK MARKERS).
